This is my story…

Let me tell you a little more about how I became a Movement Specialist and Wellness Coach.

I started to understand everything about movement from the very young age of 4, when I decided I wanted to go to Ballet class.  From the first lesson I was entranced, I LOVED IT!

I ate, slept, breathed everything dance.

As a very shy child, I found that I could really express all my emotions through movement.  It was an amazing creative outlet for me… and I became very in-tune with myself, and intuitive with others.  Dance was my everything, it really was MY FIRST LOVE!

I was very dedicated and spent every day after school, and weekends perfecting my craft.  At the age of 16 I attended Performer College in Essex, with full scholarship in Musical Theatre.

At college I was always the first one in, and last to leave. Even on my days off I would travel into London to watch shows, or go to the gym.  I remember rolling myself out of bed in the mornings because every single muscle hurt.   I was constantly perfecting my technique and homing my craft.  Intrinsically I began to understand every part of my body.

The pursuit for this level of perfectionism definitely has its downfalls. I never truly felt satisfied or comfortable in my own skin.  It also was an environment which fuelled female competition on another level. I think I was very aware that it was not a very healthy place for my own and many others mental health at many points.

When I graduated I was desperate to land apart in the West End, and came very close to… but unfortunately never fulfilled that dream.  I had commercial jobs here and there but nothing that could support me long-term financially … so I started to think about other career paths.

That’s when I decided that it would be good to incorporate all my past knowledge and re train with a Diploma in Personal Training and Sports Massage Therapy. At the time I was still dancing, working in the gym, and cocktail waitressing…so my schedule was super hectic.

When I graduated from the course I had spent many hours gaining experience in the gym, and also met a lovely lady who offered me a place as a sports masseuse in her Chiropractic Clinic.  I fell straight into launching my company FAB PT and working in the gym during the week and the clinic at the weekends.

I gained a huge amount of knowledge and expertise within both these environments.  Eventually I moved to a small kickboxing gym and based myself there.  This is where I met my wonderful husband and I began to train in Mugendo, and focus on teaching martial arts and fusion all the other facets I had learnt, to create my unique training ideas.

I also spent a couple of years working alongside some other trainers at a company called OLF , coaching other personal trainers to teach kettlebells, Olympic weightlifting, suspension training, Bulgarian bag, and much more.  This improved my overall knowledge in the industry greatly and gave me another platform to teach from.

About 6 years ago I gave birth to my little boy Blake, who now is a huge part of the reason I work more from people’s homes and online.  I still train a few clients in the gym, but I’ve gradually adapted the way I work to suit my lifestyle with a young family.

Blake inspires me everyday to be the best I can be.  A part of my journey as a mum is installing my values across to him.  I believe it’s important to stay grounded, connected to nature, have fun and get outdoors… but also learn and evolve with your kids.  He teaches me something new every day.

I hope I can be an inspiration to him, and my clients and show that you really can achieve anything you believe!!!

Lots of love
